Best games of 2014

Top Games of 2014
The time is finally upon us, the time to reveal my picks for the best games of 2014. 2014 was a pretty bad year for gaming over all, from games being delayed, more and more DLC being shoved down peoples throat (Destiny Cough Cough) or games being released and being full of problems like The Master Chief Collection and Assassins Creed Unity. The only thing we can do is try to learn from the mistakes and make 2015 an amazing year for gaming. IM TALKING TO YOU DEVELOPERS! GET YOUR CRAP TOGETHER!! Anyway, I didn’t get a chance to play a ton of games that came out in 2014 but the few (8) that did were all amazing. Most of the games that I played were older games that I finally had time to play.

In this list I’m not including games that have been remastered of games that are from 2013 that are being released on the new consoles because I don’t think it is fair and I have already talked about most of those games last year.

Best Action Adventure - Shadows of Mordor Xbox One, PS4,PC Xbox 360 and PS3

There are not enough great things to say about this game, from the Assassins Creed like free running elements, to the Batman Arkam series style of combat this game truly is an amazing game. The game centers on the main character Talion who along with his wife and son are killed and sacrificed to try to summon the wraith of Lord Celebrimbor. Rather than be summoned Celebrimbor is merged with Talion. Since Talion is merged with Celebrimbor he does not die.  Talion and Celebrimbor set out to avenge Talion’s family and try to uncover the past of Celebrimbor along the way.

This game is just a work of art, the graphics are great for a next gen game and the gameplay never gets old. I found myself having a lot of fun with the “Nemesis” system of the game. The Nemesis system is a new and great system that allows you to track down and kill enemies that kill you and get your revenge on them. Once an enemy in the game kills you they are promoted in the nemesis system to captain and so on, the higher their rank and the more times they kill you, the more their power raises and the harder they are to kill. This is a great new system that Shadow of Mordor has and it makes hunting down and killing that piece of crap that killed you even more satisfying.

All in all shadow of Mordor is a great game with great graphics, an interesting story and great gameplay. If you saw The Hobbit this year and want to play a great Lord of The Rings game, this is the game for you.

Shadow of Mordor gets a 8 out of 10 (Highly Recommend)

Best Multiplayer – Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS

Its Super Smash Bros. There is not really much to say about why this game got best multiplayer, But for those of you who would like to know I’ll explain why this game is getting the award it is.. Super Smash Bros. is a game that pits your favorite Nintendo characters against each other in fights, Think street fighter but Nintendo characters.

The game has old classic characters like Mario, Link and Donkey Kong but with the new game there are some new faces to the Smash franchise. Sonic, Pac-Man, Duck Hunt Dog, Wii Fit Trainer, Rosalina, Bowser Jr., Little Mac, Greninja, Palutena, Dark Pit, Lucina and Robin Mega Man and Your Mii all joing the fight this time around. You can customize your mii fighter to 3 main classes, Fighting (Think Mario), Swordsman (Think Marth) and gunner (Think Samus).

You may be thinking to yourself “But DWA its just smash, what could they do with it that’s new and exciting”? Well you lack of excitement about smash does disturb me, I have three words for your friend “8 Played Smash”! yes that’s right, 8 frickin player smash. This game gets even more fun and way more intense with 7 friends or 7 computers and I have to say it’s amazing.

This game as a whole is great and if all the new characters isn’t enough to get you to buy it, 8 player smash is all the reason it needs.

Super Smash Bros for Wii U and 3DS gets a 9 out of 10 (A must buy of the year)

Best Horror game of 2014 – 5 Nights at Freddys

This game has got to be one of the scariest games I have ever played in my life; it puts games like Outlast and Amnesia to shame. Rather than strike fear into your heart by making the person coming after you look scary as all hell and knowing that they could be around any corner and chase you at any moment, 5 nights at Freddys does something very different. 5 nights of Freddys or 5NAF takes robot stuffed animals essentially and puts your all alone in a room and unable to move, not because you have been given some drug that makes you unable to move but because you are a security guard for a children restaurant (Like Chuck E. Cheese). If your looking for a horror games that not only messes with your bladder control but also with your mind then look somewhere else. This game challenges your to check cameras and lock the doors to your office so that the stuffed animals can’t get to you and all you need to do is make it until 6 AM.

5NAF gets a -10 out of 10. Did you really thing I would give an award to this piece of crap game? It’s nothing but jump scares. I have seen scarier things in the toilet.

The True Best Horror Game of 2014 – Among the Sleep PC

Now, a truly good horror game of 2014 was Among the Sleep. From the first moment I heard what the concept of this game was I was sold right away. The concept of the game is that you play a baby, that’s right a BABY! Rather than sprint and run to get away from the monsters you must crawl and walk as fast as you little legs will carry you to try and hide from the monsters that haunt you.

The story of the game is simple, your crib is flipped over in the middle of the night and you venture into the basement of your home but not without grapping your favorite teddy bear first. The bear acts at your guide and a safety blanket because when you hug him he acts as a flashlight. As you travel around the world of the basement you come across pictures that you have drawn, most of a woman yelling and screaming as a sad looking man with a baby crying. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that the pictures are about your life. As you go around you also find your favorite memories of your mother, like her singing you a song and her giving you a new toy. That’s about as much as I can say without spoiling it but I will talk about it at the end of this review here, so if you want spoilers skip to the bottom of this award/review.

The art style is great as well; they didn’t go for a realistic approach but rather a very simple and very nice looking game. The game has you wondering the whole time about whether or not these things are really happening to the child or if it’s just the way the child perceives the dark and scary basement. Rather than have scares every 15-20 minutes or so like most games, Among the Sleep is more of a physiological horror game and I really liked that aspect of the game.

           SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!!!!!
MAJOR SPOILER!!!!!! Now for my favorite part of the game, the ending and the meaning of the game. As you finish the game it is revealed that the monster in your life is your mother. Your parents have gone through a divorce (hence the pictures I mentioned above) and she has turned to drinking to try and numb the pain. The teddy bear in the game represents your father and how he wants nothing more than to keep you safe. The game ends you’re you crawling up to your mother who has ripped the arm of your teddy bear and as you go to take the arm from her hand she shoves you away and a liquor bottle is shown. At that moment there it a knock at the front door and when you go over and pull the door open the screen goes white and a man’s voice can be heard (either your father or Child Protection Services) and your carried away from your mother. I really liked ho this game talked about the horrors of divorce and how it affects the children.

Among the Sleep gets a 9 out of 10 (A Must Buy of The Year)

Best Racing Game of 2014 – Mario Kart 8 Wii U
Personally I don’t play a ton of racing games but I always pick up a new Mario Kart when they come out. There isn’t really a lot to say about Mario Kart 8 other than, its frickin Mario Kart so you know it’s gonna be good right off the bat.  Mario Kart is one of those games that when your friends or family come over you can all play together and just have fun yelling at each other and screaming “Who just threw that damn blue shell”! This game is so much fun and it’s easy to spend hours playing the game. For a game on the Wii U the graphic are absolutely amazing. Racing through the levels is so much fun but I wish I could just sit and admire how great everything looks. The game has added some new things this time around too; Nintendo has added parts of levels that go upside down and the ability to race on a bike rather than in a kart. Nintendo has also released some new characters for the racing game, my personal favorite being Lemmy. Another notable character is Link (Through DLC) after years of rumors that Link was in the original Mario Kart he is finally in a game.

Mario Kart 8 gets an 8 out of 10.

Best next Gen and my Game of The Year – Sunset Overdrive Xbox One

I cannot say enough good things about this game, from the art style to the gameplay to the over the top weapons and the funny writing this game hits the nail on the head for what a good game truly is.

The basic idea of the game is that an energy drink turns people into mutants who want to kill you and it’s up to you and the friends you meet along the way to let the rest of the world know what is happening in your city. The company that made the energy drink that caused all this is called FizzCo and they will stop at nothing to keep what is going on in your city from leaking to the press and getting bad publicity.

One of my favorite parts of the game has got to be the gameplay, The game has players grinding and bounce their away around sunset city rather than run around on foot like most games. The game feels like Tony Hawk and Ratchet and Clank got together and this game is their child. The game is also in my opinion pretty funny, mentioning Reddit, peoples love for cat photos and even has a Game of Thrones reference thrown in there which I loved because im a huge Game of Thrones fan. The game is great from start to finish and it is a must have if you are an Xbox One owner.

Sunset Overdrive gets a 10 out of 10 (A Must Have) a perfect game and it is my choice for Game of The Year.

Not for a few lists and notable mentions.

             Best Company Overkill Studios
The studio behind Payday 2 (My most played game of the year) put out some amazing DLC for Payday 2 this year. From a Hotline Miami Payday 2 mash up to breaking Hoxton out of jail the DLC for Payday 2 this year was great. You may think “But I though you hated DLC DWA” most times I do, but Overkill literally gave out free DLC for 12 frickin days. Every day they gave out more and more free guns, masks and new jobs to do. It was the best 12 days of this bank robber’s life.

Best movie of 2014 - Guardians of The Galaxy

My most played game of 2014 – Payday 2

My top 5 games of the year (This includes remasters and games that just started this year)
5. Game of Thrones By Telltale
4. Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS
3. Shadow of Mordor
2. Halo The Master Chief Collection
1. Sunset Overdrive

Top 5 worst games of 2014
5. Call of Duty Advanced Warfare (More of the same crap as the last 37 games)
4. Assassins Creed Unity (Buggy as all hell)
3. Rambo The Game ( On Rails and just painful to play)
2. Destiny (Story of the game available for only 39.99 in DLC)

1. 5 Nights at Freddys 1 and 2 (Not Scary and just plain bad)

Interview with Kylee Asakura

Today I had the great opportunity to interview YouTuber Kylee Asakura. Here it is.

1) For those reading this that don’t know you very well can you tell us a little about that you do?
- I don't really do a whole lot. I'm 20 years old and I make Youtube videos about gaming and random stuff and people seem to like it, which is pretty rad. Most of my time at the moment is being taken up by university, but in my spare time I like eating ice cream, painting, reading and playing video games.

2) What made you want to start making YouTube videos and how long have you been making them?
- I was really bored over the summer last year and my boyfriend suggested I make Youtube videos to kill time, I didn't expect much to happen from it but I grew a "fan base" and continued to make videos. So I'm really glad he pushed me to do it.
3) Is there anyone on YouTube who you look up to?
- Melonie Mac inspired me a lot. I'm friends with her and she gives me advice on being a "youtuber" and how to deal with things, and gives me solid suggestions as to how to do better. She's helped me more than anyone else.
4) Some of your videos are on Xbox and some are on P.C. Do you have a favorite?
- PC for sure. I didn't start getting into PC gaming until a year ago, so up until then I used my Xbox and PS3 for everything. I want to get an Xbox One and PS4 still.
5) What is the best Game series you have ever played?
- AHHH. I don't know. Bioshock, probably. There's so many good ones but I think I've played each of the games in Bioshock 2-3 times each.
6) What is your earliest memory of playing video games?
- My nan would hang out with me when I was a kid while I played Banjo-Kazooie and would make up dialogue for the characters and I remember it being one of the most hilarious things ever.
7) Do you have a goal you want to reach on YouTube?
- Just make better videos and improve, have fun, find business opportunities. I would lose my mind if I got 10,000 subscribers by the end of the year but we'll see.
8) What Video Game character is most like you?
- That's a tough question, it's hard to accurately evaluate yourself. I really have no idea. Disappointing answer is disappoint.
9) If you could bring one video game character to life who would It be and why?
- I was going to say Jack from ME so we could be friends and touch boobs but I think that could be risky. Maybe Ellie from TLoU, we could be friends I think.
10) Anything you want to tell your fans reading this?
- HEY! It's pretty rad that you like me, keep doing that. Thanks. You're cool *high five

Best Games of 2013

Best Games of 2013
2013 was a great year for gaming. Not only did a ton of amazing games come out but this year also brought us new consoles.  I my self-picked up an Xbox One and I have to say it’s amazing but thats all for another review. This year brought us great games like Dead space 3, Tomb Raider, Bioshock Infinite and GTA V. So let’s take a look of the best of what 2013 had to offer.
                Best Adventure Game Tomb Raider
                Xbox 360, PC and PS3
                Released March 4, 2013
As you know, if you read my review, I loved this game. The story was great, the characters were great and the game mechanics were great. This game tells the story of Lara Croft on her first adventure.  Along the way she learns a lot about herself and realizes she is alot stronger than she first thinks and fights for her life and lives of her friends to get off the Island she finds herself on.  I feel like this game was great and I think it should have gotten more praise than it did. Rating 8.5 of 10 (Highly Recommended)

Best Game to Fool Around in Saints Row IV
                Xbox 360, PC and PS3
                Released August 19 2013
This game was fan frickin tastic. This game is so over the top I don’t even know where to begin talking about it. The game takes place around your character, The Boss, who has gone from the leader of a small street gang to the president of the good old US of A. The world is then destroyed by aliens and its up you and the Saints to get revenge on the alien bastards. You get into a computer simulation of Steel port and you have to fight the Aliens and save your friends. When in the Computer you are given super powers. Saints Row 4 really shines when it comes to the powers. You are given about 10 powers ranging from Super speed, super jumping, Shooting ice and fire out of your hands to even the ability to light yourself on fire. This game takes what was already over the top and great about Saints Row the Third and makes it even better by giving your super powers. Now this game was not perfect, there are a lot of glitches and bugs that have been fixed over the time of its release to now, but it’s still worth noting. Another part of the game that I felt was lacking was the plot. The story of the game was good, but it didn’t really draw me in like the story of SR3 did. I found myself fooling around with the super powers and killing people than more that doing actual missions. It is important to note that this game also supports drop in drop out multiplayer that works very well.  Saints Row IV was good but not great like I was hoping it would be.

                       Best Horror Game Outlast
                PC
                Released September 4, 2013
This was one of the best games I played in 2013 by far. Outlast is a survival horror game that takes place in an old insane asylum.  You play a reporter that has come to the asylum to see what has been going on. This game was nice because it was a horror game that actually delivered on the Horror aspect of the game.  Many games that come out now say they are horror games and end up being boring and not scary what so ever. Games like Slender: The Arrival for instance say they are horror games yet I played the entire game and was not scared once. However Outlast did actually scare the crap out of me a few times as you can see in my videos.
The game mechanics were another part of the game that is truly worth noting. Many times in the game you come across dark rooms. Whats a guy to do to see in the dark? How about take you your super cool video camera with night vision.  A lot of games have tried to use cameras in their games and they just don’t really work all that well.  The video camera in outlast works really well and I’m glad they worked hard to get the camera to work just right. This game is also home to one of the most disturbing scenes I have ever witnessed in video games. I was shocked when this part of the game happened and my jaw hit the floor. If you have played this game odds are you know what I’m talking about, but if you haven’t then I’ll leave a video so you can watch. Don’t say I didn’t warn you though…
9 of ten (A Must Buy)

                                      Best Open World GTA V
PS3 and Xbox 360 (Pc soon)
                September 17 2013
Coming into 2013 GTA V was the last game I thought I was going to pick up. I have played some of the other games in the GTA series and I’ve never really been impressed. I prefer Saints Row to GTA series any day. But then GTA V was coming out in just a few weeks and there were commercials for it on T.V all the time. I saw these commercials and thought to myself that it at least looked ok, maybe I would try it in 2014 when it’s like 15 bucks at GameStop or something.  Then the game came out and I thought I’d watch some YouTube videos of it, and I got to say I was blown away. I went out a picked up the game late October and I am super glad that I picked this game up.  Right out of the gates this game starts up with one of the coolest missions I have ever played. This is the kind of game that when you play it you can’t help but feel like a total badass.  This game also features one of my favorite characters of 2013. No, not Trevor like many of you are thinking, But Michel DeSanta. Michel is one of the coolest characters I have ever had the joy to play as in all of my gaming history (I’ve Played a lot of games). Anyway Michel is such a cool guy all around and he has the best story in the game by far.  Back to the game its self, GTA V’s story of also one of the best I have played this year, and it’s a really long story (Been playing about 15 hours and still haven’t beat it. I have been fooling around a lot though). GTA V’s story is all about Michel and Trevor meeting back up after many years and doing one last big score with their new friend Franklin. I’m not going to give anything away but there are some many twists and turns that this story gets especially good towards the end because you have no idea what could possibly happen. Another great factor of this game is its graphics and all the little things the developers put into this game that makes it a masterpiece. The graphics are beautiful and are amazing to look at. Even down to the wrinkles on the characters faces and little cuts when the character gets hurt. Some of the little things the developers put into this game that really make it shine are things like, when you get out of a car that you have been driving you can actually hear the engine ticking as it cools down, characters react differentially to you based on how your dressed and even when you get hurt you get cuts and blood on your cloths that stay there until you die the next time. All of these things combined into what is one of my favorite games of 2013 and one of the best games I have ever played.

10 of 10 (An Absolute Must Buy of The Year)

Best PS3 Game The Last of Us
                PS3
                Released June 14 2013

I am one of the few people I know that were not 100% happy with this game.  Don’t get me wrong the game was good, I just fell that it was not as good as I was hoping it was going to be. This game takes place in a Post Apocalypse America that has been taken over by clickers (Kind of like zombies). The story follows Joel and Ellie as the fight to bring Ellie to Colorado because Ellie is immune to the virus and she can help create a vaccine. This game was shown at E3 and when I saw it I fell in love with it right off the bat. The game looked great and the story sounded amazing. One of the big points of this game was that Ellie (an AI) was supposed to be able to think for herself and be able to do things that other AI’S don’t usually do. In the E3 footage it shows Ellie pick up a brick and throw it at an enemy to stun him so Joel can swoop in and kill him. However during my entire play though of the game Ellie picked up a brick all of once and she didn’t even throw it, she carried it around for a bit and then later dropped it. Ellie did do some new and innovative things however, she and Jowl would sometimes make plans and she would actually follow through with her part of what she said she would do. Whether it be distracting an enemy by Yelling or getting an Enemy to chase her so that he chases her towards where I am hiding, she did some cool things. Another problem I had with the game was that I was given way too many weapons for what they made the game seem like in the E3 footage. In the footage they made it out to seem like a game where you would usually have to find ways around enemies because you would always have very little ammo and healing supplies. However when I played this game I had a pistol, a rifle, a shot gun, a flame thrower a 2X4, Molotov cocktails, nail bombs, smoke bombs, a bow and arrow and shivs and there are even more weapons that you can pick up and throw or that only have limited uses. With all this at my disposal I felt like a walking tank that nobody could touch. Even when I used guns I would usually get my ammo right back. For instance if I killed a guy with a hand gun and it took three shots, nine out of ten times when I searched the guy he would have three hand gun bullets on him. Its things like this that made the game feel nothing like what I was expecting. The game was good just not amazing like what I was expecting.

Best Next gen Game Dead Rising 3
                XBOX One
                November 22 2013
Now this is the only next gen game I have so it’s kind of the only one I can pick but, I feel that the game deserves it. Dead Rising 3 is a zombie killing game about a mechanic named Nick and his journey to try and escape the city before the city is bombed by the government.  As Nick fights his way to escape the city he just not one fight zombies but people as well. Nick is a mechanic and he uses this to his advantage. He is able to take many different things from his environment such as street lights and hammers and is able to make crazy things out of them. He is also able to make new cars. Nick can take a motorcycle and a tractor and make a steam roller bike that can plow down enemies.  Now as for graphics they didn’t really shine. The game is next gen yet the graphics still kind of look like 360 graphics but that is the games art style. The cut scenes look amazing and truley look next gen. The shadows in the game really are something amazing as well. The shadows looked very real and they moved like they would in real life. All in all Dead Rising 3 was a great game

Castle Crashers Review

Review
Castle Crashers Rated T
Xbox,PS3 and PC

Have you ever wanted to ride a deer in a video game? How about a deer that’s shooting crap everywhere and at the same time you are being chased by a giant hairball thing?  Well in Castle Crashers you can!

Plot
Castle Crashers is a 2D game where you and up to 3 friends can battle the forces of evil while trying to get to the princesses they stole from you. You may be thinking to yourself “Well that sounds kinda boring, that’s been done before.”  Castle Crasher‘s takes that plot and brings it to a whole new level of awesomeness. Along the way of getting to the princesses you will fight everything, from scorpions to knights to giant cats that shoot hairballs at you.

Gameplay
The gameplay of this game was great. The game allows you to have one weapon, a shield, a bow, and a pet. You are also given things like potions and sandwiches that turn you into the Hulk. Pets are something that I thought were very cool. There are many pets that you can unlock in the game.  To name just a few, there was a Cat that allowed you to jump higher, a Ram that would bash into enemies during combat and knock them down, and there was even a Giraffe that helps you level up faster. There was only one flaw that my friends and I came across and that was that the weapons didn’t tell you if they were better than what you already had. The weapon would just say +1 no matter what weapon you had, even if you had the same weapon in your hand.

Controls
My friends and I played the game on PC and to begin with the controls were awful. The controls were all over the place and none of us were able to play with them the default way.  The other thing that was a little odd was that the game was still coded for the Xbox, so rather than say right click to heavy attack it would say press B, so that was a little off, but all in all it was fine.

Verdict
This game had everything a good game needs, good combat, good plot and humor.  My friends and I sat there and played this game all the way through in two sittings so the game is rather short (around 5ish hours), but the game was well worth it.

I give Castle Crashers 8 out of 10

Review-Tomb Raider (2013)

Tomb Raider Review
Rating-M
For PS3, PC and XBOX 360

This review is a few months late and I’m sorry about that but here is my review of Tomb Raider.
Tomb raider has been around for almost 20 years.  There have been nine games and there have been two movies. Earlier this year a new Tomb Raider came out and this game is a prequel to the other nine games and the movies. This game is about Lara and the first big adventure she endures. The slogan of this game is “A survivor is born” and that slogan hold true throughout this game. I bought this game the day it was released and I was hooked right from the start. The opening scene shows Lara and the crew of the Endurance going about their day, when out of nowhere they run into a storm. This storm is so powerful that is wrecks the ship. Now the crew and Lara are forced to make their way to a near by island. Lara is separated from the group but before she can make her way back to the rest of the crew she is knocked out and kidnapped. This is the beginning of Tomb Raider.

Survival Instincts at work.
The game spends no time messing around and the game starts off right away with a puzzle (the first of many). Now at this point in the game Lara knows very little about Surviving but as the game goes on she learns more and more. One of the games new features is a skill called Survival Instincts when using this skill the screen becomes very bright and objects needed to solve a puzzle light up. This helps solve puzzles if you are stuck. Later on in the game you can upgrade your Survival Instincts to light up secrets and collectibles hidden in the game. As Lara goes on the hunt to find and meet back up with her friends she comes along some of the islands “natives” and she must make her first kill. Since this is Lara’s first adventure she has no idea what it is like to kill a person. Once Lara kills her first person she immediately begins to cry and scream Lara feels so bad about what she had to do and it really shows. This was one of my favorite scenes in the game because I feel that during this scene you can really connect with Lara. She is so torn up about killing this man and it really shows.

As you play through you get more and more skills points that can be used to unlock new skills. These skills help Lara become better at fighting, surviving and looting/upgrading gear. Upgrading skills and weapons can be done at campfires. They are like checkpoints throughout the level.

Beginning
I played this game of PC and I must say that the controls are amazing and very easy to get used to. The visuals in this game are also amazing the textures are great to look at, just everything in this game looks great. Even as you play through the game Lara becomes dirty, her clothes get holes in them, her eyes become red and she just looks more like a survivor that the little teenager you begin the game as. This is a pretty cool transformation to watch and it’s very exciting to get to see the changes from start to finish.
End Lara

Rating
On a scale of one to ten I give Tomb Raider a 8.5 out of ten.

INTERVIEW WITH RAYCHUL MOORE
Hey guys DWA926 AKA The Gamer with Dreads here with my first Blog post EVER! This past weekend I got to interview a YouTube star named Raychul Moore. She was AWESOME and replied with all her answers right away and here they are! Enjoy!

1-You’re pretty well known for your cosplay. What is your favorite cosplay you have ever done?
Oh, well thank you! <3 My personal favorite cosplay is probably the Kratos costume I did. I am a huge God of War fan and Kratos is one of my all-time favorite video game characters, so being able to summon my inner anger and wield those Blades of Chaos was more than just a fangirl moment for me.

2- Can you tell us anything about your upcoming cosplay ideas?
Sure! I am planning a few for this upcoming SDCC that I can’t quite talk about yet because they are for a few cosplay groups with other girls...but I am working on Kasumi from Dead or Alive and also a female Dante from the original Devil May Cry.

3-You’re really into horror movies. What is the first horror movie you saw?
I am! The first horror movie I ever saw was Candyman. Scared the holy hell out of me.

4-Did it give you nightmares?
Oh did it ever! But from then on, I have been completely fascinated with horror. I love to be scared!

5-I know you’re a big Star Wars fan.  Do you remember the first time you saw it?
I don’t remember the very first time I saw it, my dad got me started on the Star Wars movies when I was very very young. But I do remember some of my most fondest memories with my dad were when we’d sit down on a Sunday afternoon and watch Star Wars together for the millionth time.
6-You have talked about The Walking Dead in some of your videos. What is your opinion of the show and the comic? Which one do you like more?
I am totally one of those annoying graphic novel elitist that sits there watching the show and scoffs at how awful it is and how awesome the comic is. Yep. That’s me. I mean, the show isn’t terrible, it’s just I don’t agree with a lot of the changes they have made to the story and characters. The comic is such a genius piece of artwork...why mess with that?

7- 2013 is a big year for the Video game industry. What are you looking forward to most this year?
Still tons and tons of awesome games to look forward to, but what I am most excited about is the next-gen consoles and announcements. I love being a part of a new generation of games and seeing how the industry and us gamers evolve.

8- There are a lot of good looking games coming out this year. What game are you looking forward to most?
Well with God of War: Ascension and Bioshock Infinite already out, the game I am most most excited for now is The Last of Us. I am a huge Naughty Dog fangirl, and I think they are one of the best game studios we have in this industry right now. So any year they have a new game coming out, that game will be at the top of my list.

9- How did you first get into gaming and what was the first game you ever played?
I first got into gaming way back when I was just a little thing. My dad introduced me to my first love, which was Pitfall on the Atari 2600. I never stopped gaming after that.

10- If you could only play one game (or game series) for the rest of your life what would it be?
Oh, tough one!! Naturally, my first thought is either Uncharted or Bioshock...but then when I really think about it...I’d probably have to say Mario. Mario games (and I’m talking about the true Mario games like 64, Sunshine, Galaxy) have stood the test of time over and over again, more so than any other series with Zelda games arguably in a close second. So yeah, if I had to trust one game series to always deliver something completely entertaining and innovating, I’d go with Mario.

11- How did you get into Video Game journalism?
Kinda by accident actually. It just happened with huge thanks to EGM and GamePro. Those guys really helped me out in getting my hands into the game industry and teaching me the ropes. I owe everything to them!

12- Do you have any advice for people looking to get into Video Game journalism?
Do it! It’s really the best job ever, just doesn’t pay much, so make sure you’re doing it because you love it. :) There are plenty of outlets for people just getting into the scene, so if you wanna pursue this as a career, start reaching out to as many sites as you can!

13- Do you have anything you would like to say to all of your fans?
Yes! I simply wanna say, I love you guys! I am lucky to have the best fan base ever and I am so proud to have their support! They keep me smiling every day and I strive to do the same for them! <3

I hope you enjoyed this interview there are many more to come!
